Life Happens...Sparkle Anyway! TM

What Is Sparkle Mining?

Sometimes life gets tough, we stuff our real feelings , "suck it up" and just get on with it. Think of this as an "emotional bandaid" of sorts. The problem is when we continue to stuff our feelings, over time we will begin to feel jaded, not so happy... sometimes we just feel like we are going thru the motions of life. We can even forget what USED to make us happy, what made us SPARKLE.

Sparkle Mining is a safe place to start reclaiming your joy- your sparkle. It is full of resources to help you start mining... start your emotional "search and rescue",then cleaning up, polishing and reclaiming the lost parts of yourself so you can sparkle again!

True North

Finding true north is essential for accurate navigation
Hence the metaphor. In life's journey we are often uncertain where we stand, where we are going and what is the right path for us personally.
Knowing our true north would enable us to follow the right path.
The  path that makes your heart happy.

What is your True North?

To me, true north is figuring out what exactly
makes you sparkle.
Now what makes YOU sparkle
may or may not
different from what sparkles me.
A good place to start is with our belief in a higher power-
something bigger than us.
Something divine.
Whatever you believe it to be.
How we connect to our higher power is entirely personal, yet extremely crucial to our well being.
For me, God is pure love.
we speak daily via my morning pages, and I am telling you- writing down questions and then writing the answers that pop in my mind is really an incredible exercise.
I can tell the answers that come to me are from a much wiser, loving place- and always good advice!
So here is an exercise for you, to help you begin finding
your own, personal
True North.

 Finding Your Own True North
Wake up at dawn, just before the sun rises and go to a quiet, comfy place in your home that makes you feel calm.  This may be inside or outside your  home, or it may not be at your home at all!
Light a candle and sit quietly, wrapped in a blanket- cozy and warm.  Picture yourself as you wish you were- picture you at 100%.  Forget about your present circumstances and drama for just a moment, and just allow yourself to see what you would consider to be "the perfect you".  How do you look?  What are you wearing?  What is your first impression?
Now walk over to her in your mind, and as if she were a shell- slip inside- try her on!  Take a few moments, and start to recognize how she feels.  What does she do that brings her joy?  What core values are not only important to her but she actually personifies?
Try not to let your "mind" tell you this is all silly- what we think in our heads is often not in tune with our hearts.
Instead of thinking- try FEELING.  How does she feel?  How does it feel to be her- to be YOU at 100%??
Write everything that comes to your mind or heart- no editing or trying to make sense of it all.  The "selves" we have created to exist in our present circumstances are many times at battle with our core values- our True North.  The further you are are from True North, the harder your mind/ego will try to tell you this is all hogwash.
When you have written all that comes to your mind and heart- even if one thought says "this is stupid" just write "this is stupid"!  You may see a struggle between your heart and head start to happen.  You may write "this is stupid" and then write "No- it is not and I am going to keep doing it!" "I need to take out the trash later"! Let it all flow- even if it makes no sense, let everything flow thru your body to the pen and onto the paper.
If this was hard for you to do, just take your writings, tuck them away in a private space and walk away.
Come back to it in a day or two.
Ideally, taking time early in the morning each day to create a safe sacred space for your heart is one of the best things you can do to help find your lost sparkle.
Let me know how it works for you!
Sparkly Hugs,
